After my first foray into video content production with the Keychron K10 Unboxing, a fairly natural follow up was always going to be a more in-depth look at the keyboard. It has taken a lot longer to put together than I anticipated, but I’ve learned a LOT in the process and, at last, it’s finally up. Enjoy and please let me know what you think (not just of the keyboard).

Spoiler alert: I like the K10, but it hasn’t replaced my Das Keyboard Pro with Cherry MX Browns (at least, not yet).

If you’re interested in what I have lined up next, the clicky switches in the K10 gave me a taste for further experimentation so I have two more keyboards waiting in the wings… a Das Keyboard Pro with Cherry MX Blues and a Matias Tactile Pro.

I’ll be doing a double-unboxing of those, to get that out of the way, so that I can quickly move on to pitting my small (but growing) collection of Mac mechanical and scissor keyboards up against each other.

In the mechanical corner:

  • Keychron K10
  • Keychron K1 v4 (now sold as K5 in the 100% form factor)
  • Das Keyboard Pro (Cherry MX Brown)
  • Matias Tactile Pro

And in the scissor corner:

  • Matias Wireless Aluminium
  • Apple Wired Keyboard
  • Apple Magic Keyboard
