eWeek have a detailed article with quotes, attributions and pricing<\/a> in which they state an August 25th (next Monday, by my reckoning) release date for Delphi and C++ Builder 2009!<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Delphi blog-sphere is probably going to go into meltdown with this news and speculation as to whether it is accurate or not.\u00a0 The indications were that the release wasn’t far off, but it’s much sooner than I think many were expecting, myself included.\u00a0 I am also somewhat surprised that we didn’t hear about it first from CodeGear directly, certainly confirmation (or clarification) now is quickly needed.<\/p>\n

Nick Hodges (the Delphi Product Manager) has linked to the eWeek article from his blog<\/a>, which I suppose we might take as tacit confirmation.<\/p>\n

It is also interesting to note that the date (if true) is only 3 days out from a date that I was given back in Feb\/Mar for a Tiburon release – 22nd August.\u00a0 i.e. the Friday before.\u00a0 I guess they need the weekend just to do a final run of the unit tests.<\/p>\n

I was surprised to get such a specific date so far out from the release, but will be even more surprised if it does turn out to be so accurate.\u00a0 Coincidence?\u00a0 Perhaps.\u00a0 Or then again, perhaps a very well informed source.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
