{"id":1989,"date":"2013-10-30T10:54:44","date_gmt":"2013-10-29T22:54:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deltics.co.nz\/blog\/?p=1989"},"modified":"2013-10-30T10:54:44","modified_gmt":"2013-10-29T22:54:44","slug":"best-comment-in-the-history-of-well-ever-for-all-values-of-ever","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deltics.co.nz\/blog\/posts\/1989\/","title":{"rendered":"Best Comment In The History of &#8230; well Ever (for ALL values of Ever) ?"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">[Estimated Reading Time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\">&lt; 1<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minutes]<\/span><\/span><p>In the comments on <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.msdn.com\/b\/oldnewthing\/archive\/2013\/10\/29\/10461148.aspx\">Raymond Chen&#8217;s blog post today<\/a>, was a reference to <a href=\"http:\/\/stackoverflow.com\/questions\/1705008\/simple-proof-that-guid-is-not-unique\">a startling question on Stack-Overflow<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As if the question itself wasn&#8217;t (<em>un<\/em>intentionally) amusing enough, the accepted answer demonstrates a commitment to lost causes that is truly inspired and contains a number of (<em>intentional<\/em> and very clever) laugh out loud moments for developer types.<\/p>\n<p>But the absolute pinnacle of the achievement has to be one line from one of the comments in the code submitted with that answer:<\/p>\n<pre class=\"brush: plain; title: ; notranslate\" title=\"\">\r\n   \/\/ Keep running until the heat death of the universe.\r\n<\/pre>\n<p>Has anyone ever encountered a comment that gave them such a chuckle ?  Or a guffaw ?
