{"id":1430,"date":"2013-06-19T09:09:12","date_gmt":"2013-06-18T21:09:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deltics.co.nz\/blog\/?p=1430"},"modified":"2013-06-19T09:30:05","modified_gmt":"2013-06-18T21:30:05","slug":"delphi-for-ios-kick-start-sorry-it-isnt-here","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deltics.co.nz\/blog\/posts\/1430\/","title":{"rendered":"Delphi for iOS Kick Start &#8211; Sorry, It Isn&#8217;t Here"},"content":{"rendered":"<span class=\"rt-reading-time\" style=\"display: block;\"><span class=\"rt-label rt-prefix\">[Estimated Reading Time: <\/span> <span class=\"rt-time\">&lt; 1<\/span> <span class=\"rt-label rt-postfix\">minutes]<\/span><\/span><p>I am preparing a post inspired by my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/deltics\/tags\/eurotrip2013\/\">recent travels to Ukraine and the United Kingdom<\/a>, but in the meantime I couldn&#8217;t help but smile (ok, &#8220;smirk&#8221;) when following a link to <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.embarcadero.com\/stephenball\/2013\/06\/18\/delphi-for-ios-kick-start\/\">an Embarcadero page entitled &#8220;Delphi for iOS Kick Start&#8221;<\/a>, that appeared in the DelphiFeeds, um, feed.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nI have now bought the RemObjects <a href=\"http:\/\/www.remobjects.com\/oxygene\/cocoa.aspx\">solution for .NET, Android\/Java and iOS\/OS X development<\/a> in the form of Oxygene (posts on that front also coming soon), but I was curious to see how Embarcadero were positioning their approach.<\/p>\n<p>It would seem that they are still figuring that part out too:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.deltics.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/It-isnt-here.png?ssl=1\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.deltics.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/It-isnt-here.png?resize=640%2C446&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"It isn&#039;t here\" width=\"640\" height=\"446\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1431\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.deltics.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/It-isnt-here.png?w=851&amp;ssl=1 851w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.deltics.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/It-isnt-here.png?resize=300%2C209&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.deltics.co.nz\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/It-isnt-here.png?resize=430%2C300&amp;ssl=1 430w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>No doubt the real page will appear at some point, or maybe it was a reference to an Embarcadero project to get something going on Kick Starter to deliver something to replace FireMonkey, which would explain why it doesn&#8217;t exist yet ?  Maybe.  \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>Yes, it&#8217;s a &#8220;cheap shot&#8221;, but it is meant in a light hearted &#8220;this raised a chuckle&#8221; fashion, not to be taken as a serious criticism of EDN.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> Bruce McGee kindly provided the link to <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.embarcadero.com\/stephenball\/2013\/06\/18\/delphi-programming-kick-start-ios\/\">the article intended to be posted on EDN under this title<\/a>.
